I am very interested in conveying a sense of invasion or potential invasion in these recent sketches. This piece, a sketch for a larger work, attempts to use a vague sense of unease through the tonal shifts and light sources. It is important that these be alluring but also foreboding. The larger work will use a singular palate of crimsons to turn a foreboding tonal range into an directly menacing one.
